A site visit to your home is required to evaluate and choose locations for testing. Sampling devices are then set up in key locations, and left undisturbed for the duration of testing. These sampling devices are then collected and taken for proper laboratory readings. Once the results have been reviewed we can then discuss a proper mitigation solution.
Passive sampling devices do not require a power source, so they can be placed in more difficult locations to obtain readings. These passive testing devices consist of charcoal canisters, alpha-track detectors, charcoal liquid scintillation devices, and electret-ion chamber detectors.
Active sampling devices can be more costly than passive devices because they require operation by a trained professional. However they provide more in depth recordings, taking sampling results hourly. They are continuous radon monitors and continuous working level monitors.
